V. NAOKI / G. ANDY / B. HANNY (ハニー) / Support D. TANI
The order/time periods of bassist HANNY (ハニー) and drummer TAKE-chan were initially unclear, but have since been mostly solved. We are leaving this note as evidence of both.
The comments section of a blog post by YUKI of Distoma confirms that HANNY (ハニー) seceded from DECA MERON just prior to joining the initial lineup of DIE-KÜSSE (formed May 1990), and magazine LES ENFANTS TERRIBLE corroborates this.
This blog post by SAMMY of BILLY & THE SLUTS confirms that HANNY (ハニー) was a member of DECA MERON at the same time that RUMIE was guitarist for BILLY & THE SLUTS, which narrows his joining down to March 1989 through 1992.
The family tree section of LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES confirms that HANNY (ハニー) sometime joined in 1989 and that TANI began as support drummer at the same time. The magazine states that bassist HANNY (ハニー) was replaced by RYOLLAN in early 1990, but that drummer TAKE-chan did not join until March 1990. Elsewhere in the magazine, it mentions a member change on January 1990.
So it seems that HANNY (ハニー) joined around March 1989 and was replaced by RYOLLAN in January 1990, and that drummer TAKE-chan joined slightly later in March 1990, finally achieving the lineup of V. NAOKI, G. ANDY, B. RYOLLAN, and D. TAKE-chan.
Youichi Sasahara (笹原 陽一) is said to have been a support drummer sometime in 1990, but it's unclear if he was support before or after the band switched to a drum machine in early 1990.
Also note that the name ハニー would typically be romanized as “HONEY”, but LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES confirms that he used the name “Sexy Angel” HANNY while with DIE-KÜSSE, and that is the same name he used during DEJAV, so we presume HANNY is the correct romanization.
Around this time, bassist HANNY (ハニー) secedes and is replaced by RYOLLAN. Around the same time, support drummer TANI ends support and the band briefly continues with a drum machine rather than getting a new support drummer.
At some point in 1991 (dates/order uknnown), Youichi Sasahara (笹原 陽一) briefly acts as support drummer. By March, drummer TAKE-chan joins.
Publications through at least 1991 referred to the band as “DECA MERON” but the band's logo seems to been rendered without the space as early as 1988, so it's unclear when the band's name officially changed.
At some point (date unconfirmed), DECA MERON changes their name to DECAMERON (デカメロン).
Bassist RYOLLAN secedes and is replaced by MASAYUKI.
Guitarist ANDY secedes and is replaced by KYOICHI.
The band joins Burns Record.
A second guitarist, UME, joins.
DECAMERON makes their major debut through JAPAN RECORD.
