VIRUS (ヴァイラス) forms.
In M GAZETTE Vol.11 (published January 1997), while speaking about the band's 1997 revival, vocalist HIRO mentions “the previous period of VIRUS was new-wave-ish, but only lasted about 7 months so few people knew about that period aside from our appearance on omnibuses.”
LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES states that the band (as of early 1991) was incorporating new wave into their sound, so HIRO is probably referring to that latter part of 1991~1992, during which period they only released an omnibus song.
Some sources list guitarist SATORU MURAKAMI and drummer JUN KODERA as support members, but LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES specifies that they were members who seceded. Other sources state that the lineup for the album was HIRO on vocals and NOBORU on “all other instruments” but this seems to be incorrect.
Immediately after the recording(?) of MATERIALS, guitarist SATORU MURAKAMI and drummer JUN KODERA secede.
By early 1991 (date unconfirmed), guitarist (川上彗二郎) and drummer SHUE (愁) join.
M GAZETTE Vol.11 states that the secession/disbandment occurred on January 1991, but this is presumed to be an error as the band appeared in omnibuses in early 1992. Additionally, the same interview states that their January 1997 live was 5 years since they last performed.
Unknown member(s) suddenly secede and the band breaks up as a result.
VIRUS disbands
Some sources state that the band revived in January 1995, but that seems to be incorrect. Details are unclear.
VIRUS revives.
Guitarist SHOJI and bassist HIDEKI join.
VIRUS disbands a second time
VIRUS was a visual kei band. They were part of the okeshou kei subgenre. They were active from 1987 to 1999 and are now disbanded.
